About The Position

Part-time position for a flute instructor beginning August, 2026. Primary duties include teaching weekly flute lessons to both majors and non-majors, as well as coaching ensemble(s) as needed. There are opportunities on campus for recitals and other public performances. Every other Fall semester (the next being Fall 2027), there is also the possibility of teaching the Flute portion of our Woodwind Methods sequence for Music Education majors.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or equivalent professional teaching experience strongly preferred
• Demonstrate evidence of successful teaching
• Ability to engage students at various levels of experience and skill

Nice To Haves

• Demonstrated success in recruiting and retaining students is highly desired
