About The Position

The College of Integrated Studies at UW-Whitewater Rock County is seeking one or more adjunct Engineering instructors to teach courses in Fall 2026 and Spring 2027. Candidates available to teach 50% FTE or more may be considered for a salaried Lecturer title instead. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until all positions are filled. This will be a fixed-term appointment. Reappointment for subsequent terms is dependent upon the needs of the University, funding, staffing requirements, enrollment, and external forces. Courses that are to be taught throughout the academic year will be from the following: EGR 105 – Engineering Fundamentals, EGR 110 – Engineering Graphics with CAD, EGR 201 - Statics, EGR 203 – Mechanics of Materials, EGR 282 – Engineering Economics.

Requirements

  • A Master's Degree in engineering
  • A Master's Degree in a related field and 18 graduate credit hours in engineering
  • A Master's Degree in a related field and strong evidence of teaching engineering
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and maintain work authorization throughout the employment term.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience teaching lower-division college engineering or co-requisite support courses.
  • Experience using learning management software to deliver courses.
  • Experience using Canvas.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in Fall 2026 and Spring 2027.
  • Be an active participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations including necessary training drills.
  • Interact respectfully with people from diverse socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
