About The Position

The Department of World Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at High Point University is accepting applications for one adjunct Chinese instructor, beginning in August 2026. This is a part-time position. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. and reside near High Point, North Carolina. Requirements

• Master's degree in Chinese or related field
• Near-native fluency in English and Chinese
• Previous teaching experience, preferably at the college level
• Proficiency in using educational technology both in and outside the classroom
• A commitment to student-centered teaching using a communicative approach
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Reside near High Point, North Carolina

Responsibilities

• Course preparation and teaching
• Providing timely feedback and grades
• Meeting with students during office hours
• Communicating with students outside of class through Blackboard, email, and/or telephone
