About The Position

Thomas Jefferson University is seeking an Adjunct Instructor to teach designated graduate course(s) within the Nutrition & Dietetic Practice program. The primary function is to develop and/or teach graduate courses in accordance with university and college guidelines. Specific courses and responsibilities will be detailed in a Letter of Agreement.

Requirements

• Develop and/or teach designated graduate course(s).
• Work in collaboration with College staff and faculty.
• Produce a course syllabus.
• Provide information for textbook ordering.
• Provide materials for copying/printing.
• Provide final course grades.
• Participate in course evaluation.
• Provide guidance and supervision for teaching/laboratory assistants (if applicable).
• Provide a list of equipment and supplies for laboratory sessions (if applicable).
• Provide students with a laboratory manual (if applicable).
• Maintain office hours.
• Interact with co-workers, visitors, and other staff.

Responsibilities

• Teach designated graduate course(s) during indicated semester(s).
• Collaborate with College staff and faculty to develop and/or review course and assessment materials, including laboratory sections if applicable.
• Produce a course syllabus including course objectives, outline of course content, testing dates, grading requirements, and required/recommended texts.
• Provide the College with information needed to order course textbook(s).
• Submit materials for copying or printing at least one week prior to the course or class start date.
• Provide final course grades for each student by the specified date according to the College’s grade scale.
• Participate in the course evaluation process.
• Provide guidance and supervision for teaching/laboratory assistants if applicable.
• For courses with a laboratory component: Provide the College with a list of equipment and supplies needed for each session at least one month prior to the course or class start date.
• For courses with a laboratory component: Provide students with a laboratory manual including explanations of techniques and materials to be used.
• Maintain office hours for academic support.
• Interact with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the University.
