About The Position

Reports directly to the Dean of Academic Affairs to provide quality educational programs in Mathematics to the students of Methodist College.

Requirements

• Master's Degree: Mathematics
• Work Experience

Responsibilities

• Supplement Mathematics curriculum with online materials to reinforce student learning.
• Select and/or prepare course materials, instructional aids, and learning experiences.
• Maintain student evaluations and records.
• Coordinate with the Center for Student Success to assist with developmental courses (and teach them if necessary), as well as student tutoring and/or remediation.
• Participate in ongoing pedagogy activities utilizing standard mathematical principles.
• Assumes the responsibilities of 24 semester credit hours and accompanying office hours per academic year.
• Develop placement recommendations from testing scores for developmental and college mathematics.
• Participates in assessment of student learning and college effectiveness.
• Assume a leading role in the development, implementation, evaluation, and revision of the didactic components of the Arts and Science programs.
• Participate in the development of strategic and systematic planning activities.
• Mentor and collaborate with full time and adjunct faculty in General education courses.
• Contribute to the revision of the didactic components of the Arts and Science programs.
