The Calvin University School of Business is seeking an adjunct professor to teach ACCT 204: FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING. This four-credit course allows students to identify stakeholders in the accounting communication process and articulate how financial accounting supports the Biblical principle of stewardship. The course covers analyzing business transactions and their impact on financial statement components, evaluating the need for accruals and deferrals, and making appropriate adjustments. Students will also gain introductory knowledge in preparing the balance sheet, income statement, statement of stockholder’s equity, and statement of cash flows. Additionally, students will demonstrate a working knowledge of Excel for accounting/financial functions and perform ratio and percentage analyses to assess an entity’s financial position and performance. This four-credit course meets during Fall and Spring semesters in 2026-2027 in the School of Business building. Class timing is scheduled for 8:00-9:05 am Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in the Fall, with potential flexibility in the Spring.
