About The Position

Brandeis University’s Online Information Technology Management Program is seeking an Adjunct Faculty member for RITM 105 Enterprise Cloud Architecture & Scalable Systems Design for the Fall-1 2026 session. This 3-credit asynchronous online course is an 8-week requirement for the Master of Science in Information Technology Management. This course will aid students to explore architectural principles for designing scalable, resilient, and cost-effective enterprise systems. The course emphasizes cloud frameworks, distributed computing concepts, resource scaling, workload management, and architectural governance across diverse environments.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cloud Computing, Systems Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, or a closely related field
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in enterprise cloud architecture, distributed systems design, scalable infrastructure, or cloud-based systems engineering
  • Demonstrated expertise in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and architectural design for scalability, resilience, and cost optimization
  • Minimum 1 year experience developing asynchronous online courses for adult learners in higher education
  • At least 1 year of teaching or training experience (preferably online/asynchronous)
  • Experience with online instruction
  • Excellent communication and teaching skills in an online learning environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Doctorate (PhD or DBA) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cloud Computing, Systems Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, cloud transformation leadership, or scalable systems strategy
  • Professional experience as a Cloud Architect, Enterprise Architect, Solutions Architect, or Infrastructure Strategy Lead
  • Industry certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Professional Cloud Architect, TOGAF, or equivalent
  • Experience integrating governance, cost modeling, workload management, and architectural decision frameworks into graduate-level curriculum
  • Prior online teaching experience at the graduate level
  • Knowledge of global learner personas and culturally responsive pedagogy
  • Familiarity with Moodle LMS and digital authoring tools (e.g., H5P)

Responsibilities

  • Organized and timely rollout of course content.
  • Maintaining consistent communication through weekly announcements.
  • Ensuring all instructional activities occur within university-approved digital platforms.
  • Building an active teaching persona by hosting live introductory sessions.
  • Facilitating weekly academic discourse in forums.
  • Maintaining regular availability for student consultation.
  • Providing transparent, rubric-based evaluations and supportive commentary on student work within a standardized weekly timeframe.
  • Adherence to university communication protocols.
  • Promotion of respectful online "netiquette".
  • Ensuring the course meets accessibility and technical visibility standards before and during the term.
