Adjunct Instructor in Commercial Operations in Biotechnology
About The Position
Brandeis University's Graduate Professional Studies (GPS) is seeking an industry leader to teach in its Master of Science in Applied Biotechnology & Enterprise program. This online course, Commercial Operations in Biotechnology, provides an overview of commercial strategy in the biotech sector, covering market access, sales operations, product launch planning, and pricing strategies. Students will learn how cross-functional commercial teams collaborate with R&D and regulatory departments to successfully bring biotech products to market. The program integrates scientific knowledge with business strategy, preparing students to innovate and lead in the fast-paced biotech industry through project-based, real-world applications. All GPS courses are 8-weeks long and taught asynchronously online.
Requirements
- Current active employment in the relevant biotech or pharmaceutical industry
- Deep knowledge of course-specific applications and industry practices
- Ph.D., M.D., or M.B.A.
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to foster student engagement
- Written communication skills, especially for online learning
- Ability to manage time effectively and respond promptly to students
- Deep understanding of biotech sales operations, product marketing, and market access strategies.

- Familiarity with online instructional tools and platforms
Responsibilities
- Design a syllabus following program chair guidance and the syllabus template
- Create content aligned with course outcomes, integrating personal expertise
- Facilitate online discussions and provide timely, relevant feedback
- Maintain the course site and update content in the Moodle LMS
- Provide tools and templates for market analysis, forecasting, and sales planning.
- Lead simulations of product launches and go-to-market strategy execution.
