About The Position

Lakeland University, a liberal arts institution, seeks qualified adjunct instructors to teach an undergraduate History course beginning in the fall, 2026 term. The course is HIS 101: World History, a 3-semester credit course covering the geographic, social, cultural, ethnic, political, economic, intellectual, and creative history of the world's people groups from human prehistory into the sixteenth century C.E. This is a face-to-face class held at Lakeland's Home Campus: W3718 South Drive Plymouth, WI 53073. The term dates are August 24 - December 4, with classes scheduled on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10:10 - 11:05 A.M.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in history.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and maintain work authorization throughout the employment term.

Nice To Haves

  • Teaching experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate courses in history.
  • Work with full-time faculty and deans to understand and employ activities that meet course learning objectives.
  • Administer and/or develop coursework (assignments, projects, in-class learning activities, exams) that meets and assesses course learning objectives.
  • Respond in a timely manner to calls or emails from students, colleagues, or supervisors.
  • Use university technology as directed.
