About The Position

Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC), a multi-campus institution in Upstate NY, is seeking experienced and dynamic individuals to join its Adjunct Faculty team starting in the Fall 2026 semester. HVCC offers over 80 degree and certificate programs and is a recognized leader in career preparation, workforce training, and distance learning. Teaching assignments may include weekend, evening, and online formats. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States, and appointment is contingent upon a background check. HVCC does not sponsor Visas.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in an allied health field, Social Work, Medical Ethics Community Health or Public Health or other discipline relevant to the course from an accredited college or university.
  • A minimum total of 3 years of experience in their field.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain current knowledge of professional specialty and educational methodology through continuing professional development.
  • Develop and/or follow course outline for the Healthcare Ethics (CMHL 115 course) according to college policy.
  • Instruct the Healthcare Ethics course in accordance with college policies.
  • Communicate student issues to the Department Chairperson whenever necessary.
  • Conduct conferences with students experiencing problems.
  • Act as a resource by suggesting additional material that can be used to enhance the Healthcare Ethics course.
  • Report Gen Ed results each year as required and participate in developing action plans to improve student outcomes in the Healthcare Ethics course.
  • Submit last date of attendance, midterm grades and final grades by submission deadlines.
  • Approve Kronos time documentation by submission due dates.
  • Grade assignments and exams in a timely manner to provide student feedback prior to when future assignments become due.
  • At the direction of the Department Chairperson, faculty shall perform duties as specified in the Faculty Contract.
