About The Position

The Division of Engineering and Environmental Studies at Methodist University is seeking applications for an adjunct instructor in Industrial and Systems Engineering. This position involves teaching courses such as Operations Research, Engineering Economy, Data Analytics, Engineering Probability and Statistics, Engineering Management, and Design of Experiments. The ideal candidate will be proficient in student-centered teaching methods, equity-based pedagogy, and digital teaching technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Industrial and Systems Engineering or closely related field and a minimum of 7 years of professional experience with a Professional Engineering license
  • Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Industrial and Systems Engineering or closely related field.

Responsibilities

  • Teach a M/W/F or T/TH on-campus schedule; however, hybrid or online options may be available based on experience and need.
  • Course schedules may include up to 3 courses per semester.
  • Course preparation, delivery, grading, and records management for each course for the full duration of scheduled instruction.
  • Be fully prepared for each class session and enforce academic policy and procedures.
  • Comply with institutional rules and regulations.
  • Maintain complete course and student records.
