About The Position

The Division of Engineering and Environmental Studies at Methodist University is seeking applications for an adjunct instructor in Environmental Health and Safety. This part-time position involves teaching courses such as OSHA Regulations for General Industry, OSHA Regulations for Construction, Environmental Audits and Assessments, Industrial Hygiene and Toxicology, and Emergency Planning and Preparedness. The ideal candidate will be adept in student-centered teaching methods, equity-based approaches to pedagogy, and experienced with digital teaching technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Environmental or Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or closely related field and a minimum of 5 years of Environmental Health and Safety experience with a Safety Professional and/or Industrial Hygienist certification.
  • OR Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or closely related field.

Responsibilities

  • Teach a M/W/F or T/TH on-campus schedule; however, hybrid or online options may be available based on experience and need.
  • Course schedules may include up to 3 courses per semester.
  • Course preparation, delivery, grading, and records management for each course for the full duration of scheduled instruction.
  • Be fully prepared for each class session and enforce academic policy and procedures.
  • Comply with institutional rules and regulations.
  • Maintain complete course and student records.
