About The Position

Lakeland University, a liberal arts institution, seeks qualified adjunct instructors to teach Online undergraduate Education courses in Reading beginning in the fall, 2026 term. This position involves teaching EDU 382 Reading Teaching Techniques and EDU 382L Reading Teaching Techniques Lab. EDU 382 covers the interactive nature of reading and reading instruction, developmental stages, strategies, and effective instructional technologies, including phonics. Students will design, implement, and evaluate reading programs for various age groups and will complete a clinical experience with a one-on-one tutoring component. EDU 382L is a lab component designed to prepare students for the Foundations of Reading Test required for licensure.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in education
  • License in reading education
  • Minimum of 3 year's teaching experience
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and maintain work authorization throughout the employment term.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate courses in education.
  • Work with full-time faculty and deans to understand and employ activities that meet course learning objectives.
  • Administer and/or develop coursework (assignments, projects, in-class learning activities, exams) that meets and assesses course learning objectives.
  • Responds in a timely manner to calls or emails from students, colleagues, or supervisors.
  • Use university technology as directed.
