About The Position

The University of North Texas System is seeking qualified individuals to establish a robust pool of talented adjunct instructors for its growing counseling programs. Selected candidates will be responsible for teaching master's-level counseling courses across multiple formats including face-to-face, hybrid, and online instruction using Canvas learning management system. The ideal candidates will demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching excellence and dedication to student success. Beginning Summer 2027 semester, teaching opportunities will be available in Group Counseling, Family Counseling, Substance Abuse Treatment, Professional School Counseling, Practicum in School Counseling, and Career Counseling. Candidates will be drawn from this talent pool as positions become available. As our programs continue to expand, additional teaching opportunities may arise across our counseling curriculum.

Requirements

Ph.D. in Counselor Education or a closely related field from a CACREP-accredited university.
Maintain active status as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a minimum of two years of experience, or hold equivalent licensure in a counseling field.
Academic experience working in a campus with culturally diverse students, staff and faculty.
Experience in working with industry-standard tools and programming languages for analytics.
Strong instructional design and course development skills.
Effective use of learning management systems (Canvas, Blackboard, etc.)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to mentor diverse student populations.
Proficient use of educational technology and digital learning tools.
Ability to create inclusive and supportive learning environments.
Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff.
Ability to maintain flexible schedule to meet academic demands.

Nice To Haves

Three years of school counseling experience, including supervision responsibilities
Comprehensive knowledge of TEA requirements and maintain active memberships in state and national school counseling organizations.
Substantial experience in group counseling and family systems approaches, along with a proven record of teaching all populations.
Experience working in all academic settings, demonstrate thorough knowledge of CACREP standards, and maintain active memberships in state and national professional organizations.
Bilingual skills are highly valued.

Responsibilities
