This position is responsible for providing quality learning opportunities that assist students in meeting their educational goals and career aspirations. Faculty are responsible for the quality of the educational program. The instructor will prepare, distribute, and review a course syllabus with students in the first week of class, outlining clear learning outcomes and expectations. They will implement active learning techniques and use a variety of learner-centered instructional strategies to help students meet course objectives. These strategies may include cooperative learning, experiential learning, writing for learning, and critical thinking initiatives. Faculty development support will be available to enhance skills in these areas. The focus will be on student learning outcomes, considering student needs, abilities, and the college's mission. The instructor should be familiar with academic and social supports for diverse groups and be supportive of students' educational goals, making reasonable provisions for individual differences while maintaining academic integrity. Other assignments consistent with professional abilities may be assigned by the department chair or administration. This includes working professionally with students, peers, and staff, modeling constructive problem-solving, ethical conduct, organization, and adherence to college policies. Prompt and accurate recording and reporting of student data, including enrollment and final grades, is required, with all paperwork submitted by established deadlines. The instructor may teach day, evening, and online classes as needed.
