About The Position

Lakeland University, a liberal arts institution, seeks qualified adjunct instructors to teach an undergraduate course in Business Law beginning in the fall, 2026 term. The course, BUS 410 Business Law, is a 3-semester credit course covering the nature of the American legal system and its operations. Subjects include principles of the law of contracts as applied to selected business transactions and relationships; court structure, jurisdiction and civil procedures; and crimes and torts. The prerequisite for this course is BUS 330 - Management Principles and Junior Standing. The classes will be held face-to-face at Lakeland's Home Campus located at W3718 South Drive Plymouth, WI 53073. The term dates are August 24 - December 4, with classes scheduled on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:00 - 8:55 a.m.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate or a master's degree in business with graduate coursework in business law.
  • Current resume or CV.
  • PDF of graduate transcript.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and maintain work authorization throughout the employment term.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate courses in business.
  • Work with full-time faculty and deans to understand and employ activities that meet course learning objectives.
  • Administer and/or develop coursework (assignments, projects, in-class learning activities, exams) that meets and assesses course learning objectives.
  • Respond in a timely manner to calls or emails from students, colleagues, or supervisors.
  • Use university technology as directed.
