About The Position

St. Norbert College is seeking an adjunct instructor to teach Methods in Art Education (EDUC 319) and supervise the clinical field experience for the Fall 2026 semester. This course prepares undergraduate Art Education majors to become effective PK-12 art teachers. The instructor will teach the methods coursework and supervise candidates during their clinical placement. Topics include curriculum and lesson planning, instructional methods, classroom management, assessment, studio practice, and the development of a professional teaching portfolio. Supervision involves observing candidates in PK-12 classrooms, conducting individual conferences, and coordinating with cooperating teachers and placement sites.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Art Education, Art, Education, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience as an art teacher in a PK-12 classroom.
  • Knowledge of PK-12 art curriculum, instructional methods, and assessment.
  • Experience mentoring beginning teachers.
