About The Position

This position is part of the teaching faculty within the Business and Information Technology department and reports to the Department Chair. Accounting instructors that can teach online and live in the state of Texas are needed. The instructor is responsible for student learning in his/her discipline of expertise. The instructor also assists the instructional leader and other administrative personnel in activities designed to enhance the effectiveness of the instructional process and to support the mission of the College. Additional expectations, policies, and guidance for faculty performance of their duties are available in the Kilgore College Personnel Policies and Procedures Manual and the Faculty Handbook.

Requirements

  • Candidates must have earned an associate’s degree or higher in Accounting.
  • Candidates must also have several years of accounting experience, federal income tax for individuals is a plus.
  • Must live in the State of Texas.

  • Previous college teaching experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching one or more Accounting courses; teaching Federal Tax: Individual is a plus
  • Developing appropriate course syllabi
  • Working with students as needed
  • Courses may be online or hyflex
  • Adjunct faculty members teach and supervise all learning experiences and evaluate student performance in the classroom
  • Support and adhere to the academic policies and procedures of the college, the division, and the department.
  • Interpret college policies for students in a positive manner.
  • Develop, maintain, and follow syllabi for courses.
  • Maintain a harmonious and collegial relationship with other members of the faculty and staff.
  • Maintain professional conduct and appearance.
  • Other duties as assigned
