About The Position

Drexel University, a major research university and a significant economic driver in Philadelphia, is seeking an adjunct faculty member for the Department of General Business within the LeBow College of Business. The LeBow College of Business is AACSB-accredited and offers a range of degrees. The Department of General Business offers BSBA majors. This role involves teaching introductory undergraduate courses, fostering student learning and engagement, maintaining records, and evaluating student work. The position requires implementing the mission of the LeBow College of Business and may involve teaching during days, evenings, nights, weekends, and potentially online, in-person, or a hybrid format.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree or above (Ed.D. Ph.D.) and/or significant industry experience

Responsibilities

• Instruct introductory undergraduate courses in General Business
• Teach required number of credit hours per term based on their contract
• Evaluate student achievement of curricular objectives/outcomes related to General Business knowledge and practice
• Foster an engaging and supportive learning environment for 1st year undergraduate students
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to student success through mentorship, accessibility, and relationship-building with students
• Employ a variety of teaching strategies to encourage active learning, participation, and student engagement
• Schedule two office hours per week for student availability, if applicable
• Schedule administrative time for classroom preparation
