About The Position

EDvance College is hiring Adjunct Faculty for the Fall 2026 term. Adjunct faculty are critical positions in EDvance College degree programs, as they are typically content experts currently working as full-time professionals who provide an important and valuable connection to the field. The role of adjunct faculty is to provide students with relevant, quality instruction aligned with the mission, vision, values, and outcomes of the college. At EDvance College, adjunct faculty are supported to work closely and collaboratively with the Early Childhood Studies team.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years teaching experience in higher education or coaching and mentoring.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience working in an early childhood classroom if teaching an ECE content or CORP class.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience if teaching a writing development course.
  • If hired to teach in the Spanish pathway, must be bilingual in Spanish and English.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Justice Equity Diversity Inclusion and Belonging (JEDI+B).
  • Experience in scaffolded course design, engaging teaching practices, and student support at the college/university level.
  • Use technology tools flexibly and inventively to create dynamic synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences.
  • Teach and work evenings to accommodate student schedules when necessary.
  • Attend monthly 1.5 hour Faculty Learning Community meetings.

Nice To Haves

  • Doctorate Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
  • Proficiency using Canvas, Zoom, GoReact, Turnitin, and Google Workspace.
  • Experience working with state-subsidized preschools, Head Start programs, or Title V centers.
  • Experience with permit requirements and California ECE work requirements.
  • Bilingual in Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, Vietnamese strongly desired but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a high-quality academic experience for students in the classroom.
  • Attend in-person and remote retreats to collaborate with cohort faculty to ensure vertical and horizontal sequencing of instruction, assignments, and learning outcomes (approximately 1 meeting per semester).
  • Complete faculty onboarding Canvas course (~1-2 weeks) and applies standards to course content and pedagogy.
  • Ensures course syllabus meets standardized templates.
  • Ensures course content, pedagogy, and support aligns with The EDvance Way, college policies, and procedures.
  • Creates and implements engaging, remote activities in the classroom to ensure student engagement, participation, and learning.
  • Attends and participates in Faculty Learning Communities (FLCs) regularly (once per week for one hour) to address student and program needs.
  • Collaborates with Student Success staff to quickly address student issues and provide support.
  • Provides timely feedback and grading on student assignments.
  • Participates in the Faculty Peer Review Process.
  • Contributes to Institutional Effectiveness activities to monitor and track students achievement outcomes.
