About The Position

Provide classroom instruction as needed and laboratory instruction in dental hygiene competencies for the Associate of Applied Science program. The role includes evaluating and supervising students, collaborating with full-time faculty and staff, and completing professional development requirements. Instruction may be didactic in the classroom and/or clinical in laboratory settings, where students work with patients from the community. The posting remains open to retain a pool of qualified applicants. Scheduled sessions coincide with the posted Academic Calendar.

Requirements

• Current Kentucky dental hygiene or dentist licensure.
• Associate degree in dental hygiene or dentistry.
• Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree.
• Digital dental software experience.
• Local anesthesia and laser certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide didactic dental hygiene instruction in the classroom, if applicable, and/or clinical instruction in laboratory settings.
• Demonstrate current knowledge of dental hygiene instrument use, digital charting, and digital radiography, and be willing to learn additional technology used in the dental hygiene clinic.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to educate, evaluate, and supervise students working with patients from the community.
• Complete required adjunct faculty professional development trainings online and in person as needed.
• Attend scheduled sessions that coincide with the posted Academic Calendar.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
