About The Position

Provide classroom instruction as needed and laboratory instruction in dental hygiene competencies in the Associate of Applied Science program. The position involves evaluating and supervising students, collaborating with full-time faculty and staff, and completing professional development requirements. Instruction may include classroom and/or clinical teaching in laboratory settings, including work with students treating patients from the community. The posting remains open to maintain a pool of qualified applicants.

Requirements

• Current Kentucky dental hygiene or dentist licensure.
• Associate degree in dental hygiene or dentistry.
• At least 5 years of clinical experience.
• Upload a copy of an unofficial transcript with the application to be considered for a faculty position.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree.
• Digital dental software experience.
• Local anesthesia and laser certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide didactic dental hygiene instruction in the classroom, if applicable, and/or clinical instruction in laboratory settings.
• Demonstrate current knowledge of dental hygiene instrument use, digital charting, and digital radiography, and willingness to learn additional technology used in the dental hygiene clinic.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to educate, evaluate, and supervise students working on patients from the community.
• Complete required adjunct faculty professional development trainings, online and in person as needed.
• Attend scheduled sessions that coincide with the posted Academic Calendar.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
