About The Position

Kent State University’s Trumbull Campus is seeking a part-time Veterinarian or Biology Adjunct Instructor for the Veterinary Technology Program. The course, BSCI 10005 Small Animal Anatomy and Physiology for Veterinary Technicians, will cover the identification of anatomy and basic physiological functions of domestic small animals, including the skeletal, muscular, integumentary, special sense organs, respiratory, digestive, urinary, reproductive, endocrine, nervous, circulatory, and immune systems. The course will consist of both lectures and laboratories. Laboratories will involve instructive learning, demonstrations, discussions, laboratory assignments, and dissection of preserved animal cadavers.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in a related field OR DVM
• Ability to communicate with others
• Pass a security check

Responsibilities

• Teach BSCI 10005 Small Animal Anatomy and Physiology for Veterinary Technicians, including lectures and laboratories.
• Conduct laboratory sessions involving demonstrations, discussions, assignments, and dissection of preserved animal cadavers.
• Assess student understanding of anatomy and physiology of cats and dogs.
• Apply knowledge of veterinary anatomy and physiology to veterinary technology and medicine.
• Recognize disease manifestations based on anatomic and physiologic abnormalities.
• Identify important clinically relevant anatomic landmarks.
• Apply learned information to a career in veterinary medicine.
