About The Position

St. John's University, established in 1870, is seeking Adjunct Faculty for the Greenberg School of Risk Management for Fall 2026. The university has two New York City campuses and international locations. St. John's offers over 100 undergraduate and graduate programs and is committed to inclusive excellence. The Greenberg School of Risk Management, Insurance and Actuarial Science is part of the Tobin College of Business and offers degrees at both undergraduate and graduate levels. The school utilizes adjunct faculty to supplement its 10 full-time faculty members.

Requirements

  • Master's degree.
  • Prior teaching experience preferred in the area or a related field.
  • Strong industry experience is strongly recommended.
  • Computer usage and application software familiarity is desirable.

Nice To Haves

  • Industry experience is highly preferred.
  • Prior higher education experience in teaching business courses.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching undergraduate or graduate courses in Risk Management.
  • Willingness to teach in person on campus in Queens or Manhattan.
  • Willingness to teach online.
  • Teaching during day hours (9 am to 6 pm) for undergraduate courses.
  • Teaching during evening hours (generally starting at 6:00 or 6:40 pm) for graduate courses.
  • Availability to teach undergraduate courses on a two-day schedule, typically Monday/Thursday or Tuesday/Friday.
  • Training on the use of Canvas, the university learning management system.
