Adjunct Faculty - College of Bible, Undergraduate
About The Position
Lipscomb University seeks an Adjunct Faculty member to teach courses as needed in the Undergraduate Bible Department. The University seeks highly qualified faculty and staff who share its values and will contribute to its mission and vision of being a leader among teaching universities that bring together liberal arts and professional education in a Christian community of learning and service. The role requires knowledge of the academic discipline and professional practice, including current developments, as well as instructional strategies appropriate to assigned courses, including undergraduate and online instruction. The faculty member will create syllabi and deliver course learning objectives, advise and instruct students, and manage, motivate, and evaluate their learning. They will also learn relevant sections of myLipscomb, the University’s online integrated database system, to enter final grades and other requested student information.
Requirements
- Knowledge of principles, methods, and current developments in the academic discipline and in professional practice.
- Knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques appropriate to assigned courses, including undergraduate and online courses.
- Ability to create a syllabus and effectively deliver course learning objectives.
- Ability to advise, instruct, manage, motivate, and evaluate students.
- Ability to learn relevant sections of myLipscomb and enter final grades and other requested student information.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to integrate technology effectively and appropriately into teaching and learning.
- Ability to interact successfully with students, other educators, educational institution representatives, and the general public in a professional manner.
