About The Position

The Adjunct Faculty member in Sociology provides a quality learning experience for students on a semester basis. The role performs instruction and related duties in a timely manner and in accordance with the college’s mission, policies, and procedures. The position requires in-person teaching and includes teaching activities in classroom, clinical, or laboratory settings, as applicable.

Requirements

• Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the discipline.
• Current, unrestricted, valid license, certification, and/or registration issued by the appropriate administrative body.
• Ability to teach in person.

Nice To Haves

• At least two years of post-secondary teaching experience and/or clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Use current, traditional, and innovative teaching methodologies to help learners meet course student learning outcomes.
• Participate in the comprehensive evaluation of courses, students, program curriculum, and clinical units.
• Complete end-of-term responsibilities as directed, including submitting exam copies, attendance records, and other designated materials to the Program Chair.
• Be available for individual student conferences or instruction according to students’ learning needs and serve as a resource to colleagues.
• Maintain proficiency in learner-centered instruction through distance delivery mechanisms.
• Participate in developing syllabi and courses with the Program Chair.
