Nashua Community College is seeking qualified individuals for adjunct teaching appointments in its Biological and Health Sciences Department. Adjuncts teach on a course-by-course basis for a specified contract period, with instruction potentially delivered in a classroom or online. Current course needs include General Biology I and II (daytime, on-campus instruction only), Biology In Focus (hybrid instruction), and Ecology (daytime, on-campus instruction only). Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications of a master’s degree in the specific subject or a closely related field and three years of experience in teaching, business, or industry in a related field. The salary range is $850–$1,000 per contact hour; the rate is determined by the appointed adjunct faculty rank, based on education and industry and/or teaching experience. Applicants must reside in a New England state: Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, or Rhode Island. Applicants should submit an online application, cover letter, resume or curriculum vitae, statement of teaching philosophy, and official or unofficial transcripts. The cover letter should list courses previously taught, if applicable, and courses the applicant is qualified to teach. Resumes are reviewed on an ongoing basis until staffing needs are met and may be kept on file for future openings. A completed employment application is required; a resume cannot substitute for it, and Employment History Sections stating “see resume” will not be accepted. Employment offers are contingent on successful completion of the required background check. The Community College System of New Hampshire states that it does not discriminate in the administration of admissions and educational programs, activities, or employment practices on the listed protected bases.
