About The Position

Under general supervision, this part-time position will provide instructional supervision to students in welding classes as part of the Trades & Industrial program at the Jefferson Center in Louisville, GA. This position is unavailable for remote work. The role involves demonstrating appropriate teaching techniques, testing and grading procedures, effective oral and written communication skills, and knowledge of current in-field procedures. The instructor will follow approved course syllabi, complete reports and records in a timely manner, and maintain an accurate inventory of assigned properties. The position may involve day and evening hours and may require travel to satellite locations.

Requirements

  • A welding diploma from a technical college.
  • Three (3) years’ experience in the welding field.
  • Work experience should include competencies, skills, and knowledge levels that the instructor will be expected to teach.
  • Must demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must possess and maintain appropriate professional credentials required for or related to the field.
  • Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the course assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instructional supervision to students in welding classes.
  • Demonstrate the use of appropriate teaching techniques.
  • Demonstrate the use of appropriate testing and grading procedures, including proper maintenance of grade books and other record-keeping.
  • Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of current in-field procedures.
  • Follow approved course syllabus.
  • Complete all reports, records, and invoices in a timely manner.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all assigned properties.
