About The Position

Rocky Vista University (RVU) in Ivins, UT has an opening for an Adjunct Faculty - Ultrasound - UT (Part-time). This role is responsible for demonstrating experience and expertise in biomedical or clinical education for predoctoral and/or postdoctoral students, providing service to the university and professional communities, and engaging in innovative scholarship and research to advance medical knowledge. The position involves directing the education and instruction of medical students during ultrasound laboratory experience, participating in curriculum development and assessment, and evaluating students and residents. The faculty member will also maintain a personal and professional development plan and portfolio, demonstrate professionalism and ethical behavior, and work cooperatively with colleagues. Adaptability and a willingness to assist the university in fulfilling its mission and vision through teaching, academic administrative duties, patient care, community service, or special duties are expected. The role also includes advancing the prestige of the University and College.

Requirements

Demonstrate knowledge and skill in the delivery of ultrasound in medical education
Demonstrate knowledge of varied ultrasound diagnostics and procedures
Demonstrate ability to mentor and motivate students and peers
Demonstrated commitment to valuing equality, diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
Terminal degree (DO or MD) from an accredited institution
Good standing with all regulatory and governmental boards and agencies.
Eligible for coverage by college’s malpractice insurer if applicable.
Training in ultrasound specific to the labs assigned.

Nice To Haves

Three (3) years academic experience as a full time faculty member at a College of Osteopathic Medicine or as a full time faculty member in a Graduate Medical Education program.
Current Board certified or Board eligible in area of specialization.
ARDMS or AIUM Certification

Responsibilities

Direct the education and instruction of medical students while providing mentorship and motivation for learning, during ultrasound laboratory experience.
Participate in curriculum development, assessment and modification as a part of the colleges ongoing quality improvement and assessment program.
Participate in the assessment and evaluation of students and residents, provide feedback and remedial assistance to ensure that the students of the COM meet the standards established by the faculty and college and obtain the knowledge, skills and competency established.
Participate in the assessment or evaluation of and provide feedback to other members of the faculty as a portion of the college’s ongoing quality improvement and assessment program.
Maintain a personal and professional development plan and portfolio, including documentation of teaching, professional development activities and plans, service provided to college and communities, scholarly activity and research to assure personal growth and continued competency with specialty field.
Demonstrate the highest standard of professionalism and ethical behavior in all aspects of personal and professional actions and performance.
Demonstrate and role model an ongoing ability to work cooperatively with colleagues, supervisors and support staff.
Demonstrate adaptability and the willingness to assist the university and college in fulfilling its mission and vision though teaching, academic administrative duties (course/system coordinator), providing patient care, community service and/or perform special duties as assigned.
Advance the prestige of the University and College through advancement of it mission and vision and advancement of your personal career.
