Adjunct Faculty: Theater 2027
About The Position
The Department of Theater at Augsburg University is seeking adjunct faculty to teach undergraduate courses, specifically establishing a pool of instructors for potential openings in Spring 2027. The available course is THR 271 Black Theater, focusing on the history of African American theatre, its evolution, and the performance of Blackness. Instructors are expected to teach the course, grade student work, respond to student inquiries via email, hold office hours, provide progress updates, and communicate with the course coordinator. A syllabus, textbook selection, sample activities, exams, and shared office space are typically provided. Most classes are taught in-person on the Minneapolis campus and require approximately 12-15 hours per week for 15-16 weeks. The successful candidate must possess high intercultural competency and a commitment to inclusive practice and authentic representation. Adjunct teaching is covered by a collective bargaining agreement with SEIU, Local 284.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in theater or professional equivalence.

- Reside and work from Minnesota or Wisconsin.
