About The Position
The Department of Writing Arts is seeking qualified adjunct faculty to teach courses in technical and professional writing. These courses may include Introduction to Technical Writing, Writing for the Workplace, Writing as Managers, Writing for Nonprofits, or Editing for Publication. Requirements
- Master’s degree in an appropriate field, such as Composition/Rhetoric, Communication Studies, Business Administration, Strategic Communication, or Human Factors.
- Eligibility to work in the United States.

- 1-2 page statement of your philosophy, guiding principles, and teaching practices concerning writing or communication
- 1 or 2 previous teaching evaluations, if available
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience teaching technical writing or professional writing
- Favorable recommendations from references
- Favorable previous student evaluations
- Experience or expertise in usability, user experience, and/or accessible design
Responsibilities
- Teach courses in technical and professional writing, which may include Introduction to Technical Writing, Writing for the Workplace, Writing as Managers, Writing for Nonprofits, or Editing for Publication.
Benefits
- Minimum of $2,225 per credit for all courses taught
- Maximum teaching load of 8 credits per semester and 12 credits in an academic year
