About The Position

The Department of Social Work & Youth Services at Saginaw Valley State University is seeking applicants for adjunct faculty positions. Adjunct faculty teach a variety of social work courses in the accredited BSW and MSW programs, and youth services courses for the minor and certificate programs. Typical teaching load is one course section per semester in Fall & Winter. BSW teaching occurs Monday through Thursday. MSW teaching occurs Fridays, Saturdays, and some evenings. Scheduled weekly hours vary depending on class contract load. Adjunct Faculty are hired each semester on an as-needed basis.

Requirements

  • Minimum of MSW plus 2 years post-graduate practice experience.
  • Knowledge of social work ethics, skills, and practice settings.
  • Willingness to learn classroom technologies.
  • Strong written and oral communication.

Nice To Haves

  • LMSW Preferred.
  • Teaching or professional training experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with online teaching technology, including Zoom, Teams, etc.
