About The Position

The Department of Biological Sciences, in the School of Science and Mathematics, seeks a residential (on campus) adjunct to instruct and support biology coursework. The successful candidate will bring strong content knowledge, practical high school teaching experience, and a commitment to student learning and professional development. Adjuncts may be utilized on a temporary, part-time basis to provide instruction during the academic year as instructional needs arise. These temporary adjunct positions are subject to Cedarville University policies, verification of credentials and other information required by law, including the successful completion of a background check. These positions are located in Cedarville, Ohio.

Requirements

• A Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Biological Sciences; or a Master’s degree in a related field with at least 18 graduate semester hours in biological sciences.
• Demonstrated knowledge of biology content and effective teaching practices.
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to supporting students in a residential academic environment.
• Committed to biblical integration in and out of the classroom.
• Qualified applicant must be a born-again Christian.
• Qualified applicant must agree with and be willing to abide by Cedarville University's Doctrinal Statement, Community Covenant and General Workplace Standards.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned undergraduate courses in biological sciences in accordance with University, School, and Department guidelines.
• Prepare and deliver engaging, well-organized instruction aligned with course and program outcomes.
• Incorporate appropriate laboratory, inquiry-based, and hands-on learning experiences.
• Assess student learning and provide timely, constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate course records, grades, and other required documentation.
• Integrate Biblical concepts and worldview.
