The primary responsibilities of library adjunct faculty are the delivery of library and information services. To fulfill this responsibility, library adjunct faculty will foster students’ critical thinking and problem-solving abilities through instruction sessions. Provide reference, library instruction, and information resources to students, faculty, staff and community residents. Adjunct faculty librarians also serve as liaison to one or more academic divisions and assists in collection development to maintain the collection as a useful resource that supports the curriculum. LCCC recognizes AI as a valuable educational resource while also maintaining our commitment to academic integrity and student learning. We encourage candidates to apply who have experience or interest in specializing and helping to shape the library’s role in Digital and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Fluency. Qualified candidates may collaborate with key stakeholders across the college supporting holistic academic and student support (e.g. Writing Center, student tech support). The Librarian may also partner with Faculty Fellows in the Teaching and Learning Center and the AI Teaching and Learning Taskforce to help guide and foster students’ critical thinking, digital literacy, and effective, ethical, and responsible use of generative AI and other emerging technologies.
