About The Position

The University of New Haven is seeking adjunct instructors in Psychology to support the instructional needs of the Psychology and Sociology Department. Adjunct instructors are hired to teach specific courses based on their expertise and typically teach no more than half of a full-time load. They receive a letter of appointment for each semester they teach and are paid on a per-course basis. There is no expectation of continuing employment implied. Requirements

  • At least a master's degree or Ph.D. in Psychology
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to prepare courses with best pedagogical practice in mind
  • Experience with instructional technology
  • Familiarity with, or the ability to quickly adopt, the Canvas LMS.
  • Must possess valid work authorization at the time of application.

Nice To Haves

  • At least one year of experience teaching college-level

Responsibilities

  • Teach one or more undergraduate psychology courses, including Introduction to Psychology, Adolescent Development, Social Psychology, and Theories of Personality.
  • Support the instructional needs of the Psychology and Sociology Department.
