About The Position

The Lydia Green Nursing Program, part of the College of Applied and Natural Sciences (CANS), offers a vibrant undergraduate BSN program. Our program distinguishes itself through the integration of robust academics and relationship-centered learning, grounded in Christian faith and values. The program and its graduates are highly respected by the regional healthcare community. The nursing programs are approved by the Washington State Board of Nursing (WABON) and accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). We are accepting applications for adjunct faculty for clinical teaching in undergraduate, pre-licensure areas including acute care (adults), pediatrics, obstetrics, community health, and psych-mental health. Teaching in these courses involves close collaboration with students in the clinical setting, preceptors, and other SPU faculty to facilitate transformative clinical learning experiences.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in nursing or closely related field.
  • Unencumbered license as a registered nurse in the State of Washington.
  • For undergraduate clinical teaching, BSN applicants with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the clinical subject area will be considered.
  • Commitment to support active, participatory learning experiences.
  • Personal commitment to Christian faith.

  • Alignment with the University's Statement of Faith.
  • Willingness to accept the lifestyle standards of the community.

Responsibilities

  • Teach clinical courses for undergraduate, pre-licensure nursing students in areas such as acute care (adults), pediatrics, obstetrics, community health, and psych-mental health.
  • Work closely with students in the clinical setting.
  • Collaborate with preceptors and other SPU faculty to ensure transformative clinical learning experiences.
