About The Position

Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is seeking qualified and interested adjunct faculty members to teach Political Science courses. PVCC is a two-year institution serving Central Virginia, known for its transfer curriculum, relationship with the University of Virginia, and workforce development programs. The position may involve teaching at various PVCC locations, including the Giuseppe Center and correctional facilities. Courses can be offered during the day, evening, and on weekends, and may include distance learning or remote instruction. Applications are reviewed on a continuous basis as openings occur.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Political Science or a related field.
• Interest in teaching a course at one of the prison sites (to be noted in cover letter and/or application).

Nice To Haves

• Experience teaching at the community college level.
• Experience with distance learning or remote instruction.

Responsibilities

• Effectively plan and teach courses in a classroom environment to students with a variety of academic backgrounds and experiences.
• Teach developmental and/or college-level courses.
• Teach courses during the day and evening, on weekdays and weekends.
• Potentially teach distance-learning courses.
• Potentially teach remotely.
