About The Position

The Political Science Program at Keene State College is seeking qualified applicants for adjunct faculty positions for the Fall of 2026. These positions are to fill six course openings at the introductory and advanced undergraduate level and concentrate in three of the subfield areas of the discipline: International Relations, Comparative Politics, and United States Politics. Specific courses include: United States Politics (POSC 210); International Relations (POSC 220); Comparative Politics (POSC 240); Law and Policy (POSC 318); Ethics and War (POSC 325); Advanced Topics in US Politics (POSC 410). Keene State College is located in the scenic Monadnock region of Southwest New Hampshire and is an affiliate of the University System of New Hampshire. Located approximately 2 hours from Boston or Hartford CT, and 4 hours from New York City, the region contains many opportunities to enjoy outdoor recreation, cultural events, and a strong sense of community. Requirements

  • Preference given to candidates with PhD or ABD degree status in Political Science with training in disciplinary subfields listed above.
  • Minimum qualifications for consideration are completed Masters degree in Political Science with emphasis in fields above (depending on course to be taught) plus a record of success in teaching within the discipline at the college level.

Responsibilities

  • Design and delivery of course content for credit courses
  • Preparation of lesson plans and course materials.
  • Assessment of student learning.
  • Assignment of grades.
  • Referring of students to support services where necessary.
  • When appropriate provision of supplemental instruction and mentorship to students.
  • Comply with USNH and KSC policies.
  • Participate in appropriate department and/or unit meetings.
