Adjunct Faculty, Philosophy - Department of Philosophy and World Religions
About The Position
The Department of Philosophy and World Religions seeks qualified adjunct faculty for various philosophy classes, including: Logic of Everyday Reasoning (informal logic), Philosophical Perspectives on Science (a general education philosophy of science course for non-majors), Intro to Philosophy, Intro to Ethics, Social & Political Philosophy, and Intro to Symbolic Logic. Some of these courses are offered online, but candidates who can teach in person are preferred. Applications submitted through this process will be screened on a rolling basis, as the need for new instructors arises. Applications will be retained for possible future semesters of employment.
Requirements
- At least a Master’s degree in philosophy or a closely related field.
- Eligibility to work in the United States.

- Previous college-level teaching experience.
- Ability to teach in person.
Responsibilities
- Teach various philosophy classes including Logic of Everyday Reasoning, Philosophical Perspectives on Science, Intro to Philosophy, Intro to Ethics, Social & Political Philosophy, and Intro to Symbolic Logic.
- Teach courses online or in person.
Benefits
- Minimum of $2,225 per credit for all courses taught.
- Maximum teaching load of 8 credits per semester and 12 credits in an academic year.
