About The Position

NexStep is seeking passionate and dedicated faculty members to join our Adult Education team. As a GED Faculty member, you will help adult learners prepare to pass the GED exams and earn their high school diploma. We are hiring for multiple part-time positions (6 hours per week, in-person).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (experience may substitute for degree in some cases).
  • Must pass a background check and maintain a valid Kansas driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong background in ESL, Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, or Math; K–12 teaching experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Energetic team player committed to positively impacting adult learners and the community.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain a classroom environment that supports adult learning and professional growth.
  • Deliver engaging, interactive instruction using GED curriculum resources.
  • Apply differentiation, small group strategies, and problem-solving approaches.
  • Track student attendance and maintain necessary records and documentation.
  • Provide constructive feedback to support student progress and academic achievement.
  • Model and encourage strong work habits such as punctuality, cooperation, and professionalism.
  • Participate in professional development to remain current in the field.
