About The Position

The College of Humanities, Education and the Arts seeks an adjunct faculty member to teach MUS 2211: Individual Instruction - Violin. This course provides an opportunity for students to participate in private lessons and practice a high level of repertoire on the violin. Adjunct educators are hired on a contractual, part-time basis, for specified quarters throughout an academic year. Duties include developing syllabi and assignments, teaching classes and assessing student performance.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in Music, or Terminal degree in related field, or excellent instructional skills
  • A personal commitment to Christian faith, enthusiasm about supporting SPU's mission, alignment with the University's Statement of Faith, and willingness to accept the lifestyle standards of the Christian community.
  • A comfortability discussing the intersection of faith and music with students
