About The Position

The Adjunct Instructor - Accelerated BSN position is a non-tenure-track faculty position that provides didactic and/or clinical teaching support for the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) Program within the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) School of Nursing. The position supports student learning and academic success through instruction, evaluation, and collaboration with course faculty and program leadership. The Adjunct Instructor serves as a subject matter resource within assigned content areas and contributes to the achievement of the School of Nursing’s educational mission. An ideal candidate for this position would be a practicing nurse who is passionate about student success and enjoys teaching, mentoring, and evaluating nursing students in clinical, classroom, and simulation settings. This position must reside in the Odessa area.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in baccalaureate nursing education.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience.
  • Unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Texas.
  • Knowledge of nursing practice standards and principles of undergraduate nursing education.
  • Knowledge of instructional strategies that support accelerated learning and student success.
  • Ability to effectively teach, mentor, and evaluate diverse student populations.
  • Ability to assess student performance and facilitate achievement of program learning outcomes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, clinical partners, and community stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with educational technologies, simulation equipment, and learning management systems.
  • Commitment to professionalism, student success, and the mission of the TTUHSC School of Nursing.

Responsibilities

  • Provide didactic and/or clinical instruction to students enrolled in the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) Program as assigned.
  • Assist with student learning experiences, supervision, and evaluation in designated clinical settings, classroom environments, and/or simulation laboratories.
  • Support faculty in the delivery of ABSN course content and learning activities to ensure achievement of course and program outcomes.
  • Evaluate student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback regarding clinical competence, professional behaviors, and academic progress.
  • Communicate student performance, learning achievements, and areas requiring improvement to course faculty and the ABSN Program Director.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in assigned content areas and contribute to course delivery, student learning, and academic support activities.
  • Facilitate a positive learning environment that promotes professionalism, critical thinking, clinical judgment, and evidence-based nursing practice.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, clinical partners, and community stakeholders.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, trainings, accreditation-related activities, and other initiatives that support the ABSN Program and School of Nursing.
  • Ensure compliance with TTUHSC, School of Nursing, and affiliated clinical agency policies, procedures, and requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the academic mission of Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and the School of Nursing.
