This position requires a passion for effective teaching and advising of diverse students, excellent oral and written communication skills, and demonstrate commitment to the comprehensive state college mission. Assist and follow all curriculum and, more importantly, be a team player. The successful candidate will teach occupational skills and knowledge to provide students with the competence to become skilled in their field, and to secure a job in their new career. Demonstrate occupational materials, tools, equipment, and processes using standard and/or instructor-prepared aides per state requirements. Instruct students in the appropriate safety precautions and the safe operation and use of tools and equipment per state requirements and manufacturer. Control the storage, maintenance, and use of materials and property to prevent loss or abuse. Establish and maintain standards of student conduct to provide an orderly, safe, and productive environment in a hands-on activity classroom setting. This position reports to the program director, Sonja McCall-Strehlow, and the Department Head, Applied Technology and Professional Services. Requires being available for both morning and evening classes.
