Ivy Tech Community College - Terre Haute Campus is seeking an Adjunct Instructor to teach IVYT Classes during the day, face-to-face in a classroom on the Terre Haute Campus. Adjunct Faculty are hired each semester on an as-needed basis and are responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals, and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided. This role involves facilitating student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives, making optimal use of available technology, and developing/maintaining course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials. The instructor will maintain accurate student records and grades, engage with students in meaningful ways, show evidence of developing and implementing active classroom teaching strategies, and interact with students and co-workers professionally and cooperatively. Compliance with College policies, campus guidelines, and expectations is required, as is knowledge of and implementation of emergency and safety procedures. All responsibilities must be conducted within the parameters of FERPA, other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards. A strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to the area of instruction and meeting faculty credentials as outlined in ASOM 7.1 is necessary. The instructor must conduct all activities with an appreciation, respect, and promotion of diversity.
