About The Position

Grand Canyon University (GCU) is seeking an adjunct faculty member for the College of Theology to teach Introduction to Philosophy and Ethics for the Fall 2026 semester on its traditional campus. This role involves providing program instruction, incorporating innovative teaching methodologies, and engaging students in learning. GCU is a Christ-centered higher education institution that integrates faith, learning, and work, and values diversity among its students, faculty, and staff.

Requirements

  • Master's in Philosophy (PhD preferred) with emphasis in ethics or Master of Divinity with coursework in philosophy and ethics from an accredited college or university
  • 2 or more years professional experience teaching philosophy or ethics at the postsecondary level
  • Attach unofficial transcript reflecting degree earned with 18 graduate credit hours in the areas listed above
  • Attach unofficial transcripts for any applicable conferred graduate degrees

Nice To Haves

  • PhD in Philosophy preferred

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate classroom lecture and discussions
  • Engage students in learning course objectives and topics
  • Assess student performance and mentor success in the classroom
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission of Grand Canyon University
