About The Position

Lesley University’s Department of Art & Design is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach INTDS 3300 - Fabrication for Exhibition for the Fall Semester 2026. This course provides students across disciplines with practical experience in the development of exhibition-ready work and exposure to professional production techniques used by interdisciplinary artists. The course focuses intensively on exhibition fabrication and integrates transferable skills in artwork finishing, project management, and process management. Through hands-on production experience, students will develop the technical and organizational competencies required to bring creative projects from conception to exhibition.

Requirements

  • MFA in Studio Arts (required)
  • Minimum of two years teaching experience in Art History or Studio Art in a Visual Arts program at the undergraduate level
  • Experience and commitment to teaching and developing culturally responsive curriculum
  • Demonstrated advanced studio competencies and fluency in technical, conceptual, medium-specific skills specified by the course
  • Experience with Woodworking/sculpture/pedestal/ frame making
  • Experience with writing about art
  • Experience with vinyl design and cutting on Graphtec cutters
  • Experience with laser design and cutting on Trotec cutters
  • Experience with fine art materials handling
  • Experience with VCarve and Fusion 360/Shopbot

Nice To Haves

  • PhD or terminal degree (preferred)
