GBCC Adjunct Faculty - History
About The Position
Great Bay Community College is seeking qualified adjunct instructors to teach History on a course-by-course basis during the Spring Semester 2026. The instructor will help prepare and teach a 16-week survey course, HIST 150g – World History Since 1500. Instruction may take place in a classroom or online. The instructor must be familiar with and experienced in online or blended learning environments and a variety of platforms, including Zoom. Adjunct appointments are temporary and for a specified contract period. Compensation is $825–$975 per contact hour, or $47.95–$59.45 per hour at the clinical rate if applicable. Compensation depends on the appointed adjunct faculty rank, which is based on education and industry and/or teaching experience. Applicants must reside in a New England state: Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, or Rhode Island. Any offer is contingent on successfully completing a requisite background check.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in History or a related field.
- Prior experience as a history instructor in higher education, including experience with program implementation, direct service delivery, planning, or program evaluation.
- Familiarity with and experience teaching in an online or blended learning environment using a variety of platforms, including Zoom.
- Residency in a New England state: Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, or Rhode Island.
