About The Position

Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is seeking to identify qualified and interested adjunct faculty members to teach entry-level Health Information Management courses. These courses are designed to prepare students for the Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification. The curriculum may cover topics such as electronic billing, reimbursement issues, CPT classifications, and pharmacology. PVCC is a two-year institution serving Central Virginia, known for its transfer curriculum, relationship with the University of Virginia, and workforce development programs.

Requirements

  • Instruct entry level Health Information Management course(s)
  • Prepare students to take the Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
  • Course content may include: electronic billing, reimbursement issues, CPT classifications and/or pharmacology
  • Teaching developmental and/or college-level courses
  • Teaching distance-learning courses during the day and evening, on weekdays and weekends
