About The Position

MassBay Community College is seeking an Adjunct Instructor for the Automotive Technology program. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic, articulate, and proven team player with the ability to manage a positive teaching/learning classroom environment. This role involves developing and teaching undergraduate courses, maintaining a professional and safe learning environment, and adhering to ASE standards. The faculty member will also be responsible for student feedback, grading, and maintaining program accreditation. Collaboration with faculty, staff, and students on strategic initiatives, particularly those focused on closing the equity gap, is also a key aspect of this position. All employees are expected to work collegially and collaboratively within a diverse community.

Requirements

  • ASE Certifications
  • 5 years of field or work experience in automotive services
  • Proven oral and written communication and extensive experience with electronic communication

Responsibilities

  • Develop and teach undergraduate courses for a two-year automotive service technician program
  • Maintain a professional teaching learning environment
  • Maintain ASE accreditation for the program and teach ASE standards
  • Manage classroom and shop/lab to ensure that there is a productive and safe learning environment
  • Promote college programs and enhance community relationships
  • Serve on College committees as elected or appointed
  • Select and recommend suitable instructional materials, and textbooks
  • Use technology effectively to communicate and to enhance classroom learning as appropriate
  • Maintain appropriate paperwork and documentation required by MassBay
  • Collaborating with faculty, staff, and students on the College’s strategic initiatives dedicated to closing the equity gap related to student outcomes
  • Other duties as assigned

Benefits

  • The salary range is $1,512 - $1,715 per DCE Credit.
