About The Position

Northern Essex Community College (NECC) is seeking an instructor for ECE271, Early Childhood Education Practicum 1 for Fall 2026. This course will be delivered in Spanish and requires in-person instruction on Monday evenings from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Lawrence campus (45 Franklin Street). The faculty member will also need daytime availability for on-site observations at local early education settings. Responsibilities include teaching the ECE Practicum 1 content, grading assignments, observing student teachers in ECE settings, and meeting with site supervisors to discuss student progress. Requirements

  • Master's degree in Early Childhood Education, or related field
  • Prior teaching experience in a related discipline
  • Experience using technology in instruction and assessment
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English)
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • Successful completion and review of a background check which will include CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) and SORI (Sex Offender Registry Information).

Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned courses according to Academic Catalog description and established departmental student learning outcomes.
  • Communicate fluently in Spanish (written and verbal) to effectively instruct, engage with, and support students.
  • Adhere to all NECC policies and MCCC contract requirements, including policies regarding grading, deadlines, evaluation process, and syllabus requirements.
  • Complete observations of student teachers in ECE settings.
  • Meet with site supervisors to discuss student progress.
